The Stay Samseong

The story I'm about to tell isn't to boast about 'The Stay Samsung'. I don't like flashy advertisements either. 'Seoul's best facilities! Renovated in 2023!' I believe such common advertising phrases don't move people's hearts. What I truly want to convey is 'trust'. I want to answer the question, 'Is this a place I can trust and live in?' [Anxiety] A year ago, I was running a small gosiwon (mini-room rental). That gosiwon always had a waiting list of over 10 people each month. Outwardly, it seemed like a successful business, but inside, I was always anxious. At the time, I didn't know 'why I was anxious,' but the reality of my anxiety was revealed by my wife's words. [Guilt] Whenever my wife showed rooms to guests, she seemed somewhat displeased. When I asked her why... 'I feel guilty selling places I wouldn't want to live in myself to others.' At first, those words didn't resonate much. But as time passed, they gradually weighed heavily on my heart. [Mother's Sigh] One day, a young female student, around 20, came to see a room with her mother. After looking around the room, the mother let out a small sigh and said, 'Can you really live in such a small space...? What to do...' Hearing this, I too began to question my business. [Wife's Words] When I asked residents, 'Isn't the room too small?' They would often reply, 'It's okay, I just need to endure it for 3 months!' 'Endure' rather than 'live'... My heart felt heavy... My wife's words kept echoing in my ears. 'I wouldn't want to send my daughter to such a cramped and uncomfortable space.' [Giving Up] Now, I also found it difficult to be confident. 'Is it truly right to provide a space that even my own family finds difficult to live in to others?' 'Is this business really going in the right direction?' Such questions lingered in my mind. Ultimately, I sold the gosiwon, which I had built with blood, sweat, and tears, in just one year. [New Goal] And now I have a new goal. Not to create a gosiwon that makes a lot of money, but to create a 'home' where my daughter would want to live. If it's a place where my precious daughter can sleep, I'm confident it will satisfy everyone else too. So, I decided to solve all the problems I learned from a year of gosiwon operation. Many people said the rooms were small and stuffy. There were also stories of it being too cold even with a heater on. They said cockroaches came out of the rooms. I often heard that it was dark even at 1 PM. People said they couldn't tell if it was night or day. To overcome these shortcomings of gosiwons, I chose to build an entirely new place. A new building, new pipes, new walls, new windows, and new beds were installed. Because of this, it took one month longer to complete than scheduled. So now I can confidently say, It's a home where I can trust sending my daughter. It's a little embarrassing, but pouring it all out makes me feel much lighter :) I consistently post my operating philosophy on our blog. Feel free to read it thoroughly and contact us when you feel confident. Even if you are confident, I recommend a room tour first. You can find a home where you can truly relax by seeing it with your own eyes. Thank you for reading this long message :)
